Frequently Asked Questions

The following is a list of some of the anticipated frequently asked questions about Greenbelt Co-op's pilot online ordering program.

Q. Where do I go to pick up my curbside order?

A. Curbside pickup area is located across from the Co-op main parking lot between the entrance ramp and the loading dock area where the green barriers are located.

Q. These pickup times do not work for me. Can I pick up my order at another time?

A. We strive to offer convenient pickup times while still operating our store. Currently, our flexibility is limited to meet these varying needs. Please consider whether you can identify a trusted individual to collect your order if you are not able to do so within the available times.

A-2. Please arrive for pickup during your hourly window. Please don’t come earlier or later. If you come early, we may not have your order completely finished. Arriving outside of your delivery window can mean that we need to pull people from other important tasks to get your order to you. That keeps other customers from getting what they need in a timely way. We appreciate your cooperation in this.

Q. What if I missed my pickup time?

A. If you missed your pickup time please call 301-474-0522 as soon as possible and ask to speak to the manager on duty. Due to high demand, please ensure availability to pickup your order for the time you are placing it. Pickups will be rescheduled base on availability.

Q. Why can't I order a product online that is sold in the store?

A. While we aren't able to include our entire inventory at this time, nearly 90% is available! We are continuously working to increase this.

Q. Can I order my prescriptions from the pharmacy through Mercato?

A. No. However, curbside pickup and home delivery for prescriptions can be arranged by calling the Co-op Pharmacy at 301-474-4400.

Q. How do you select the items that are sold by weight?

A. You will be able to increase and adjust weight through pre-set increments.

Q. How do I request a substitution incase an item I want isn't available?

A. There are two ways to request substitutions—indicate on your order for us to call you or you can make comments on each item in your cart by clicking on the word "preferences" just under that item and state specifically what you would like as a substitute. For example: You are ordering Organic Full Circle Milk 2% but would take Full Circle skim or whole (if needed) or you only want 2% but you would take another organic brand. Similarly, you could say NO SUBSTITUTION on any specific item where you only want that one thing. For example: You only like one flavor of one brand of BBQ sauce, tell us so we don't sub in something similar from another brand or a different flavor.

Q Can I use coupons?

A. We cannot accept printed coupons at curbside pickup. Additionally, we are not able to give rainchecks on promotional items that are out of stock.

Q. Will I receive promotional or sale pricing through curbside pickup?

A. Currently, we are not able to offer promotional or sale pricing through curbside pickup services. We are, however, working towards offering in-store promotional and sales pricing in the near future.

Q. Can orders be paid for with WIC, SNAP, or EBT?

A. We are not currently able to accept payment by WIC, SNAP, or EBT. There are limitations on how these payment mechanisms can be used that we do not control. All SNAP and EBT payments must be made in the store. (Please note: the Co-op does not accept Wick.)

Q. How can I pay for my order?

A. Currently we are only able to accept credit or debit payments which are processed through Mercato.

Q. Is my personal information secure?

A. We have partnered with Mercato, an online grocery service, to process all orders. Their Privacy Policy can be read here.

Q. Will curbside staff wear personal protection equipment?

Q. How will my order be picked and packed?
